neglected!

i have to admit that my blog is the first thing to go when my to do list starts to grow. then one day i log on and realize it's been more than TWO MONTHS since my last post--yikes! rather than try to catch up on everything that's been going on, i thought i'd just pop in to share this cute little story.

my almost three year old hadn't been to the doctor in almost a year when i took him and eliza for their flu shots in december. needless to say, he was NOT happy about that nurse giving him a shot. on our walk out to the car he kept saying "that nurse was NOT nice. it was NOT nice. i DIDNT LIKE IT when she broke my leg."

a few weeks later, i told joe that we were going to have to take eliza to the doctor because she wasn't feeling well. he said (and this is a direct quote): "but i don't want the doctor to shot me. i just want the doctor to shot eliza."

i'm still laughing.

happy fall!

one of my fall traditions is making happy fall cards for our friends and family. these cards used to feature our two dogs, owen and izzy. now that i have two of the cutest kids around, the dogs can breathe easier because they don't get dressed up any more:)

during one of my recent browsing sessions on pinterest, i saw a picture of a baby inside a pumpkin. i knew right away that i'd try it with eliza. she's the perfect candidate for this because...a. she's tiny, b. she's a very good sitter, and c. she's totally laid back. seriously, this was only the 5th picture i took:

i put her in the pumpkin and it didn't faze her at all. she tried to taste it:

things got a little crazier when i added joe in (please note the egg-sized knot on his head from a run-in with the car door earlier that day)

i've got so many seasonal projects on my plate right now, that i decided to let my good friend kim of the polka dot press design the fall card this year. stay tuned for what is sure to be a SUPER cute card!
